Being an Effective Ally
Being an Effective Ally is a 120 minute, facilitated training workshop for anyone who wants to help support those who experience oppression, but who may feel unsure of how. This workshop will help allies identify their areas of privilege, as well as the areas where they experience oppression themselves, and will present clear, concrete types of ally activities that they can engage in. The workshop provides numerous opportunities for self-reflection, and to explore ally-ship in a safe environment. We finish with setting clear personal commitments to specific ally activities.
Burnout and Work Life Balance
Burnout can effect anyone in any career. This 120 minute, facilitated training provides education about causes and symptoms of burnout, as well as an opportunity for participants to assess and address their own experience of burnout. The training takes a systems-view of the causes and the possible solutions to burnout. Participants explore elements of work life balance, including healthy boundaries, systemic interventions, and effective self care.
Vicarious Trauma and Compassion Fatigue
Vicarious trauma (VT) and compassion fatigue (CF) are some of the leading causes of turnover in the caring professions. These issues are only beginning to be addressed in professional training and educational settings, so many who provide direct care to clients are at a disadvantage when it comes to identifying how they are effected. This 120 minute training provides education about the psychological, physiological, social, and spiritual impacts of VT and CF, and provides participants with a safe environment to explore their experiences. Participants are guided through multiple strategies to address and mitigate the impacts of VT and CF.
